PRODUCT-SPECIFIC SCOPE

The right requirements for your next market.

Start with the product and its destination.

A wireless device for sale in Singapore and a product exported from Singapore to the EU follow different routes. We review intended use, radio features, power supply and existing reports to identify the relevant EMC, safety and documentation work. Share your model and destination before commissioning tests.

IMDA01

IMDA preparation for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and IoT

Map radio features and technical documentation to the applicable IMDA requirements. Equipment registration uses a supplier declaration supported by conformity evidence; registration and report acceptance depend on the product and relevant route.

Official source: IMDA
SAFETY MARK02

Electrical product safety

Check whether the product is a Controlled Good under the Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Regulations (CPSR). AC adaptors and some household lighting products are examples. The category determines the assessment route, required safety reports and local supplier registration steps.

Official source: CPSO
EU EXPORT03

CE testing plans for Singapore exporters

For products destined for the EU, plan applicable CE requirements, EMC, electrical safety or radio testing and technical documentation. Existing reports are reviewed against the actual product configuration and destination requirements.

About market entry

Is CE marking enough to sell a product in Singapore?

CE marking addresses applicable EU legislation. It does not replace Singapore-specific requirements. Check the product category, IMDA applicability and any CPSR registration obligations separately.

Does every electronic product need a SAFETY Mark?

No. First check the official Controlled Goods definitions. For covered products, the risk category determines the conformity assessment route; requirements for other consumer goods must be considered separately.

Can we start without shipping a sample?

Yes. Start with a data sheet, model list, intended use, radio specifications and existing reports. The initial review identifies gaps; sample quantities, test location and shipment arrangements are agreed after the scope is defined.

Can an existing test report be reused?

Potentially, after checking its standard and edition, model coverage, hardware and software configuration, issuing laboratory and acceptance criteria. Reuse is assessed case by case; it is not guaranteed by a CE mark or a previous approval.
