CE Mark
The Passport to the European Market
What is the CE Mark?
Products manufactured worldwide need certain approvals to enter markets in different countries. The CE Mark is a marking that indicates that products in the European Union and Turkey comply with European Directives by meeting minimum safety, health, and environmental protection requirements.
NexusTest, NexusTest supports this process by testing the compliance of products with the necessary directives and regulations in contracted laboratories, and guides companies to obtain the CE mark required for their products to enter the market.
Importance of the CE Mark
The CE mark was implemented by the European Union to facilitate trade between countries. Previously, each country set its own product safety criteria according to its own regulations, which created major obstacles to trade.
By establishing common testing conditions and requirements, all countries are ensured to comply with the same standards, making trade easier.
The CE Mark can be described as the "passport" of a product in the European market. Regulations known as the European Union's "New Approach Directives" require products to meet essential requirements related to health, safety, and the environment.
Regulations
Clearly state how manufacturers should comply with the essential requirements.
Standards
Provide manufacturers with detailed technical information on how to meet the requirements.
Harmonized standards: are published by approved European Standards Organizations such as IEC, CENELEC, or ETSI and are then converted into national standards by the member countries' standards organizations (TSE in Turkey).
