IP Tests
IEC 60529
Determine and certify the protection level of your devices against dust, water, and other external factors with Ingress Protection (IP) tests.

What is IP Testing?
IP testing is a test carried out to determine how durable electrical devices are against external factors. The abbreviation "IP" (Ingress Protection) refers to the protection levels of devices against solid objects like dust and dirt, and liquids like water and rain.
First Digit
Protection level against solid objects (dust, dirt, foreign objects)
Second Digit
Protection level against liquids (water, humidity, rain)
Example: IP67
- 6: 6: Completely dust-tight
- 7: 7: Protected against immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes
IP Protection Levels
Protection degrees according to the IEC 60529 standard
| Seviye | Solid Object Protection | Liquid Protection |
|---|---|---|
| 0 / 0 | No Protection | No Protection |
| 1 / 1 | 50mm (Large objects) | Vertical dripping water |
| 2 / 2 | 12.5mm (Finger) | Dripping water tilted at 15° |
| 3 / 3 | 2.5mm (Wire/Tool) | Spraying water |
| 4 / 4 | 1mm (Wire) | Splashing water |
| 5 / 5 | Dust protected | Water jet |
| 6 / 6 | Dust tight | Powerful water jets |
| - / 7 | - | 1m depth, 30 minutes |
| - / 8 | - | Continuous immersion |
| - / 9K | - | High-pressure washing |
